Sowing Seeds, Changing Lives: A Call to Faithful Giving
CC FAM!
I want to openly share a need with you. Since January of this year, we have been running behind in giving. As of now, we are about 14% behind. This equates to about $45,000. This is of high importance to our church leadership and me.
The reason it matters is multifaceted. One, it matters because giving many times is a reflection of our hearts. Two, it matters because it is a biblical issue. Three, it matters because we can’t continue to accomplish the mission as a church.
What I know for a fact is giving means lives changed. Did you know you are alive and well today because of the seeds someone else has sown? Just think, the food we eat that gives us energy and that helps us to grow and stay strong starts with a farmer and a bag of seeds. In faith, small seeds are planted into the ground, and they grow into a huge harvest. Then, hundreds of people can eat as a result.
2 Corinthians 9:10-11 (The Message) says this:
“This most generous God who gives seed to the farmer that becomes bread for your meals is more than extravagant with you.
He gives you something you can then give away, which grows into full-formed lives, robust in God, wealthy in every way, so that you can be generous in every way, producing with us great praise to God.”
Our wallets are like that bag of seeds. When we plant the seed in good soil, we will see a harvest. Of course, our harvest is not wheat or corn – it’s people encountering God for the first time. It is changed hearts and transformed lives – all glory to God!
Stay faithful in your giving or start your giving journey today. When we all do something, it makes a huge impact…changed lives!
Many Blessings,
Pastor Shannon
