Living on Mission
CC Fam!
Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone is having a good week so far. I wanted to reach out and let you know of a God-moment we had as a community on Sunday. Have you ever wondered why it’s hard to sometimes see what God is doing? Have you ever asked God to show you if you are still living on mission? I sure have!
As a pastor, just like you, many days can seem long and leave you wondering. But then, out of nowhere, God shows up with a special reminder. He wants to remind us that He is still in control and that we are still walking in His will and calling. Sunday morning, I did my normal route: got up early, drove to the campus, looked over my sermon slides, met with some of the volunteer teams, and then, it happened. What happened? A God reminder! Pastor Ernie came to see me, and he said, “We are baptizing 31 people today!
This moment for me was special! Every time we baptize people it is special, but 31 people is huge! When I announced this to the church, you could feel the joy in the room. There was joy based on the thought, “Look at what the Lord is doing at City Church!”
So, to my fellow soul journeyer, stay the course! When you feel like nothing seems to be working, I pray God will give you a moment where you can see His goodness. Let’s celebrate the 31 baptisms from this Sunday and believe God is not done working. This is a year of restoration and acceleration!
Grace and Peace,
Pastor SC
