Election Day Reminder: Trust God’s Sovereignty and Be Kind to One Another

City Church Family,

Today is Election Day!  This is a day we all have been talking about, wondering how things will end up for months.  Moments like this make it so easy to give into fear and worry.  I want to remind you of a few things:

·      No matter who wins or loses today, God is still on the throne.

·      Jesus is our ultimate King and risen Savior!

·      As Jesus followers, our citizenship is not in this world but in the Kingdom of Light.

·      No friendship should end over how someone votes.

·      Pray, be informed, and VOTE with human flourishing in mind!

·      Please, at all costs, be kind to your neighbors.

I love our church community, and I am praying for our nation today.  This is the verse that came to mind this morning as I prayed:

“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven…”

Grace and peace,

Pastor SC
