January 8, 2009
Hello NUNATION parent(s),
It is a new year! And in 2009 there are some changes I want you to be aware of. As with any change there can be uncertainty and questions, but there is also opportunity for growth and for God to continue doing AMAZING things here at NUNATION.
[Starting February 4th from 630-8pm, what has currently been Dash on Sunday morning at 945am, will now be moved to Wednesday night in the Student Center. Dash is our Middle/High School discipleship ministry designed to help students connect with each other and dig into God’s Word in a real, practical way. We are called to be disciples who fall in love with the very Word of God
they are words that bring life, change, and power in and through us.
[During Dash, we will be looking at 31 Verses. 31 Verses will target scriptures specifically about the Here and Now. We know we are somewhat products of our past and are always looking towards the bright future, but sometimes the present gets left out. Our students want to know how the Bible can be applied to their lives now! Not two days ago, or a month down the road, but right now. Occasionally, we might load up the church buses and head to a different location to keep things interesting, but rest assured you will know about that in advance.] So, Erin and I are really excited about starting a new schedule of Dash on Wednesday Nights.]
[One thing we are adding for those families who are serving either at the 915am or 11am service and attending a service at either hour is a Breakout Room for Middle/High School students. Now some of you might be interested in your child serving along side you in a ministry such as Elementary or Preschool. And then your family attends a service together. The other option is while you are serving in a ministry your child is up in the Breakout Room. Once you are finished serving your family can then attend service together. So you have some options to look at and decide on. The major thing is to see your family attend a service together.]
[A couple of things...we are kicking off the New Year with a new series titled, I Heart God. It’s going to rock! Also, starting this Sunday, Casey Whitaker will be leading our students and leaders in worship. After 3 years of leading worship, Lauren Koch has stepped down from doing an amazing job and we are so excited about what God will be doing with her in the future. Casey has a heart for seeing students be in the presence of God. We are pumped to have him on the team. Last thing, if you ever want to know what’s happening GO to the NUNATION website. We work hard on making it what it is and keeping info up to date for your family.]
Thank you for your support and prayers. Always remember the voice of a parent speaking love and encouragement is something they always need even though they may not know it.
Living Passionately,
Danny Hesterly
